POSITION: MIDWIFE (PROJECT COORDINATOR)
\nLOCATION: FAMILY HEALTH CLINIC, ACCRA
\nREPORT TO: FACILITY HEAD
\nJOB PURPOSE:<\/strong>
\nTo provide quality Sexual Reproductive Health services to clients through the clinics and outreach services.
\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong>
\n\u2022 Provide Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) issues
\n\u2022 Provide SRH education\/information to patients and clients
\n\u2022 Take charge of the Midwifery Unit
\n\u2022 Provide Family Planning counselling, HIV\/AIDS management and treatment of STI\u2019s and Post Abortion Care
\n\u2022 Manage emergency clinical cases.
\n\u2022 Provide curative and preventive health services in the clinic.
\n\u2022 Ensure the efficient use of clinical equipment and resources.
\n\u2022 Refer cases to the appropriate facility, if necessary.
\n\u2022 Assist in ensuring that clinical reports are collated and submitted as required
\n\u2022 Ensure effective infection control in the Clinic
\n\u2022 Support in the supervision and ensure the effective implementation of BCC activities in the clinic and the community
\n\u2022 Ensure that clients rights are adhered to
\n\u2022 Prepare and follow an effective referral system, where necessary
\n\u2022 Collate and analyse service statistics
\n\u2022 Liaise with other nurses and midwives to ensure that clinical standards are adhered to
\n\u2022 Attend meetings and training programmes as may be required
\nQUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:<\/strong>
\n\u25aa A State Registered Midwifery
\n\u25aa An additional higher qualification in a related field will be an added advantage
\n\u25aa A minimum of five (5) years relevant working experience.
\nTHE PERSON:<\/strong>
\n\u25aa Must have very good interpersonal, communication, report writing and presentation skills
\n\u25aa Must be honest, transparent, reliable and duty-conscious
\n\u25aa Must be very accommodating
\n\u25aa High sense of responsibility, humour, be non-judgmental and able to take initiatives
\n\u25aa Must be a team player and self-motivated
\n\u25aa Must be able to work for long hours and sometimes, due to workload, under pressure
\n\u25aa Have excellent human relationship skills and be youth-friendly.
\n\u25aa Ability to source information and determine new strategies for enhanced performance
\n\u25aa Must be able to work with little or no supervision
\n\u25aa Ability to travel at short notice
