Prior to this, PPAG participated in the in-county meetings that drafted the country statements. The HLPF is UN\u2019s central platform for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provides for the full and effective participation of all States Members of the United Nations and States members of specialized agencies. The 2019 HLFP took place in July and it was under the theme, <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">&#8220;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Empowering people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">&#8220;. The Forum focused on six (6) SDG goals and these are: <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Goal<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> 4.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Goal 8<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Goal 10<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0Reduce inequality within and among countries<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Goal 13<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Goal 16<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"western\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Goal<\/b><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> 17.<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"western\" style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Times New Roman, serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Ghana, for the first time, since the inception of the SDGs, was peer reviewed.
