The World Contraceptive Day was marked by YAM-Gh with the support from the University of Ghana-Legon branch. This was in collaboration with the Jubilee Hall of residence as they celebrated their Hall Week.
Key activities carried out that day were exhibition, distribution of condoms, recruitment of volunteers to join the Legon Branch and the continuation of #IDECIDE Campaign for young people to pledge their support for contraceptive use among young people especially young females.
Volunteers embarked on room to room distribution of condoms and correct demonstration of how to put on a male condom. Some use the opportunity stop students to and fro lectures to educate them on contraceptives and went ahead distributing condoms. At the end of the day, 310 students were reached with information regarding their Sexual and Reproductive Health particularly with the RIGHT use of the male condoms.
The movement also share accurate information on the types of contraceptives for both male and female, long term and short term etc Over 100 students signed up with the branch as volunteers with YAM Legon to volunteer and to become members.
