Increasing Resources for Long-Term Organizational Sustainability

Recent donor announcements point toward an unprecedented strain in global aid, with estimates showing a nearly 20% drop in Official Development Assistance. Donors delivering for SRHR also reported that disbursements for SRHR (including family planning and maternal, new born, and child health) declined by approximately USD 4 billion between 2022 and 2023.

As a share of overall Official Development Assistance (ODA), SRHR fell to 4.29% in 2023 from over 6% in prior years (UN Trade and Development, Jan. 2025). This global trend can be attributed to the huge funding gap for the implementation of PPAG’s activities to achieve its mission.

In response to the financial shifts and reduced donor funding, PPAG is strategically diversifying its revenue streams to ensure long-term sustainability. By focusing on profitable ventures in publishing, printing, and facility rentals hospitality services, PPAG’s SE (PHCT services ltd) is contributing to building a more resilient organization.

The three-year plan focuses on offering add-on services, expansion into new business areas. The Business is also committed to improving business operations to drive efficiency and ensure accountability, with the aim of generating GHS5,284,573.83 by the end of 2028. Increased funding will also be achieved through creating strategic partnerships including corporate bodies, existing and potential donors and potential partners.

Staff capacity and volunteer capacity will be built on to mobilize resources at every level. Investment will be made in needed equipment at selected clinics for income generation. By the end of 2028, it is expected that these efforts will increase the organization’s funding, strengthen the ability to serve our community and sustain the organization in the long term.
