PPAG SUPPORTS GHANA HEALTH SERVICE’S COVID-19 OPERATIONS

The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) has donated a cheque of GHC 10, 000.00 to the Ghana Health Service to support its operations during the COVID-19 era. The cheque was presented by the Executive Director of PPAG, Abena Adubea Amoah and supported by the National Treasurer, Gideon Leckson-Leckey. In presenting the cheque, the Executive Director of PPAG, Abena Adubea Amoah stated that, the Association has been working with the Ghana Health Service for the past 53 years that the Association has been in existence and believed that, it is appropriate for the Association to lend a helping hand to its partner during this period.

She emphasized that Ghana Health Service has provided several technical support to the growth and expansion of the Association. She pledged the willingness of the Association to continue to support the Ghana Health Service in whatever capacity it can, so as to ensure that, the fight against COVID-19 is won and issues of Sexual, Reproductive and Health Rights (SRHR) are prioritised.

Receiving the cheque, the Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Aboagye, expressed gratitude to PPAG for the support, saying that, “it is only good friends who come to the aid of their fellow friends, when they are in need”. He stressed that, this gesture will go a long way to strengthen the bond of partnership between the two organisations.
